Avnei Hamikdash Project- The stones of the Temple

For generations, the Jewish nation has yearned and dreamed of the Beit Hamikdash as part of the ultimate redemption.

It is commonly believed that the Third Temple will descend fully built from Heaven. Indeed, this is implied in the words of our Sages in several places (such as Rashi and the Zohar).

However, a closer look reveals that these very sources also explicitly state elsewhere that the People of Israel are required to build the Temple with their own hands.

The commentators reconcile this by explaining that Israel will indeed build the Temple — and in addition, there will be a heavenly manifestation of the “Temple from Above.”

This is also the ruling of Jewish law:
“It is a mitzvah to build a House for G-d… It is to be built with large stones…
They would quarry and shape the stones outside the Temple Mount, and only afterward bring them in for construction.”
(Rambam, Laws of the Temple)

And the first stage — is to prepare the materials.
So why not begin the preparations even now?

This initiative was started by simple people, with the encouragement and blessing of many leading Torah sages from across different communities.

The project aims to unite the various segments of the Jewish People around the practical preparations for the Temple,
and to awaken hearts to repentance and personal growth — qualities deeply connected to the Temple according to Jewish tradition.

And as our brave soldiers declared, with unwavering spirit in the face of a war forced upon us:
“Our eyes are set on the Temple!”
